THINGS TO DO...

Wether you like to relax on the beach, take a boat trip or diving trip, explore the buzzing nightlife or explore the beautiful inlands of Gran Canaria, there is plenty to do for everybody. Active travelers can keep their adrenaline pumping with a skope for hiking, horse trekking and watersports. If you have a car, visit some other places like Puerto de Mogan, Telde, Las Palmas, Teror or Agaete or explore the inlands by car or bus and you will see that Gran Canaria has much more then just beaches and a buzzing night life.
Walkers can enjoy a scenic hike over the mountain which separates Arguineguin from Puerto Rico. Arguineguin also makes an excellent base for moving inland and touring Gran Canaria by hire car. It sits directly at the end of the main GC1 motorway - a quick hop and skip upto Las Palmas and the eastern side of Gran Canaria too! Arguineguin's weekly market is on Tuesday - and this is one of the biggest markets in the south of Gran Canaria! Well worth a visit. You can also stroll along Arguineguin's pretty coastal promenade all the way to Patalavaca. It's a good base for some picturesque and non-strenuous walking. The resort Anfi del Mar offers a lot of activities such as mini golf, paddling, scubadiving, 5 elements gym and spa, a supermarket, restaurants and sometimes entertainment in the evenings.

Explore the inlands

Gran Canaria has a dramatic variation of terrain, ranging from the green and leafy north to the mountainous interior and desert south. This is a rare Canary Island where you feel that there are still secret places to explore. To glean a sense of this impenetrable quality, head to the centre where the sheer drama of the mountains more resembles the Tibetan highlands than a relatively small island..
At Anfi del Mar you can choose between a range of watersports such as Scuba Diving, paddling, Parasailing. Pozo Isquerdo, near the airport is famous for windsurfers because of the exellent windconditions.

Puerto de Mogan
Puerto Mogan is a picturesque fishing port. It has a sea water inlet with bridges and is know as "Little Venice" In total contrast to lively Playa del Ingles and Maspalomas, the picturesque town of Puerto Mogan is ideal for those seeking peace and quiet. Set at the tip of the Mogan Valley, on the foot of a rocky outcrop looking out to sea, Puerto Mogan is based around a pretty yacht-filled marina. The old town is a cluster of quaint, typically Mediterranean houses and whitewashed cottages, which climb up a steep hillside.
